Please feel free to contact the office with questions or concerns regarding any area of our programming or you and your families’ faith formation.  We are available by phone, email, or personal visit.  If you wish to visit the office, it would be to your benefit to call first and make sure someone will be in the office when you intend to come by.

If you call during office hours and get our answering machine, please leave a message and one of us will return your call as quickly as possible.  We often have meetings, programs, liturgies or special events that take us out of the office during business hours.

Queen of Heaven Parish offers religious instruction classes during the school year for the parish children who do not receive religious instruction in their school.  Classes are provided for students in kindergarten through grade ten. These classes and programs are one formal way to support the faith of children; families bear the primary responsibility to share faith with their children.

We offer a summer program for grades 6 through 10 in cooperation with Blessed John the XXIII and 14 Holy Helpers.  This is an intensive week long program that encompasses the entire curriculum that is required by the Diocese of Buffalo.   This years program takes place Thursday, June 25th, Friday June 26th, Monday June 29th, Tuesday June 30th and Wednesday July 1st, 2009.

We are particularly delighted that we have Life Teen to offer to our high school youth as another option for them.   Life Teen meets on Sunday evenings starting with 6:30 Mass.  The evening continues after Mass until about 9:30 with a session downstairs in the church hall.  Regular sessions run from September through mid-December and start again in mid-January and continue into May.  There are optional summer activities as well.  Check out the Life Teen page for more information (coming soon...) or contact our Youth Minister, Ms. Betzy Amico at betsy@qofhchurch.org or call the office at 675-3714.

Our parish also offers the option the option of a Family Catechesis Program that meets once a month on Sunday after the 9:00 Mass.  This type of program benefits families who prefer to further their faith formation together instead of having the children attend a separate program.  It is also helpful for those who have children in the traditional programs that all meet on separate days.  Queen of Heaven presently uses the Generations of Faith series for their family program.  At the present time, Father Baker is the facilitator of the Family Program.

The Religious Education Department coordinates separate sacramental preparation programs that are offered for all Queen of Heaven Parish students in grades two, three and eleven who wish to prepare to receive the Sacraments of (First) Reconciliation, (First) Eucharist, and Confirmation, respectively.

The Rite of Christian Initiation is offered for individuals wishing to become members of the Catholic faith or receive the sacraments outside of the traditional age/grade levels.  Father Dave Baker coordinates the R.C.I.A. process for adults and Mrs. Maloney for children.  Inquiries can be directed to either person.

Areas of responsibilities:  As Director of Religious Education for Queen of Heaven Parish Mrs. Maloney is responsible for all faith formation programs in the parish, although her main focus is the Religious Education Program itself.  Mrs. Maloney is directly responsible for all areas of the Religious Education program for grades seven through ten and the Confirmation process for grade eleven, as well as coordinating the Family Catechesis program.  Along with these responsibilities, Mrs. Maloney is the oversight person for the primary level religious education and sacramental preparation programs.

Mrs. Kishbaugh is directly responsible for the religious education program for the primary grades K - 6, and coordinating the primary sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.

Ms. Amico is responsible for the Life Teen Program and other aspects of Youth Ministry.  Betsy is also an integral pat of the parish Confirmation preparation process.

Mrs. Thie is the secretary for all areas of the Religious Education and Sacramental Preparation programs for the parish.  She maintains the database for these programs and is responsible for all correspondence and record keeping.  Mrs. Thie is a daily presence in the Religious Education office.
